this was my winning hand for a payoff of some 20K chips in a field of 2700 people....i won it all....so since im excited about that let me explain how this hand played out
im in the middle, to the left of me is brendan62 and to the right of me is pandismad59....i have about 67K chips, brendan has about 62K chips and pandismad has about 1800 chips. I get a 5/3 offsuit and call the 600 chip buy in for the hand. Brendan has the big blind, he checks and pandismad has the small blind and calls the big blind. (blinds are the 2 players that HAVE to add chips to the pot so if everyone folds their hands someone gets paid) OK. So the flop is a 4-2-A...which gives me the 5 high straight (5 cards in order). I check and decide that i could get alot of chips if a 5 doesn't show up or a runner-runner flush draw with diamonds. There's already a spade flush draw on the board since the ace and the 2 were both spades. So everyone checks the flop. I figure that if brendan starts making bets i can trap him and take at least half his chips if i just call and then bet him on the river. I also figure that depending on brendans bet on the turn (4th card drawn by the dealer) it will tell me if he has a flush or not. So the turn is a jack of hearts....there's still a spade flush draw on the board. So brendan bets 1800 chips on the turn....pandismad calls him which puts him all in and of course i called him also and the river (last card) card is a 2 of hearts which pairs with the 2 on the board but more importantly eliminates all the flush chances. So at this point since there isn't a 5 or a 3 on the board there's no chance for a 6 high straight, i've got the win....and the best hope for any of these players is to split the pot by matching me with another 5 and 3 in their hand....which is a longshot. So it's my turn and i bet about 30K chips to see if brendan will bite which i figure he will seeing as the board has paired and he bet on the turn card which told me he probably paired that as well...giving him 2 pairs, no good against a straight. Brendan decides to go all in, sensing that i must've paired something on the board and his 2 pair is better than mine and that if he's gonna commit at least half of his chips he might as well push all in and take most of my chips. So he goes all in, i call him immediately, he turns over an ace and a 3 diamond suited and pandismad turns over an ace and a 5 unsuited and i turn over a 5 and 3 unsuited and take the pot of over 120K chips since i had the 5 high straight instead of a shitty two pair. I laughed and showed my dad.
i find the best part of the whole thing was that i played this tourney for about an hour. Made about 16K chips by the time i got to the final table and was in the middle of the pack. I went out for 20 minutes to get some new light bulbs and i come back and there's only 6 players left and i've lost about 2K in chips from the blinds. I come back, i knock off 2 players who had almost twice the chips i did when i returned, and took all their chips and then knocked off everyone else. I left, came back short-stacked, and won the whole thing in 5 minutes.

ps: i entered another 2700 player tourney and im currently sitting at the final table with some 30K chips and the leader has 50K chips and im in second place :)
