I really should have expected this...
Okay, so I wasn't planning on going to the Pearl Jam show originally, because I never got a chance to pick up a ticket and I was low on cash anyway when they went on sale. Today, Mench told me that a friend of his was selling a ticket if I was interested. I decided to go for it. My dad even said he'd reimburse me the money for the ticket. What great luck.
But if you've read this piece of shit for any length of time, you know what kind of luck I have when it comes to concerts.
I thought everything was sorted out. I was going to be seeing Pearl Jam tomorrow night. Then I read a review of the Halifax show only to discover that Sleater-Kinney opened for them there, which made me assume that they would also be opening for them here. Fuck yes! Now I'm really excited. Sleater-fucking-Kinney. If you don't know them, fucking get to know them. They kick ass.
About twenty minutes ago, however, Mench's friend called. It was Mench's friend's roommate (or some shit like that) that had the spare ticket to sell, and as it turns out he had sold it not even an hour before I found out about it, and Mench's friend was unaware of this. Christ. I really should have seen it coming. History has clearly shown that concerts just are not meant to be attended by me.
I'm seriously beginning to think that there has to be some rock-n-roll deity up there who like, throws darts at a picture of me on a daily basis or something. Fucking cunt. FUCK YOU, DART-THROWING DEITY!
Oh well. At the very least I'll get to skate the new skatepark here in SJ with Nick and Shane. And I think Shane is also in need of a ticket, in which case I may have a plan B. So there's still a little bit of hope.
In the meantime, I'm gonna go watch...something...or maybe read some of Kafka's "The Trial", which I just downloaded.
Side note: Season 2 of Lost has me ridiculously stoked and there's only been one episode so far.
Update: Plan B has failed and I have learned that WINTERSLEEP, not Sleater-Kinney are opening the show. FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!
