[ Character's Name ] : Vanitas
[ Character's Age ] : physically looks to be 15; but chronologically is only a couple years old
[ Series ] : Kingdom Hearts
[ Canon Point ] : Right as he’s about to fuse with Ventus.

[ History ] :

Historyyy.

[ Personality ] :

Being the embodiment of darkness, Vanitas has no positive attributes to his personality. He's cunning, ruthless, cocky, greedy, and proud. Pretty much everything that...well, belongs in darkness.

The first time he interacts with one of the main characters, he's shown in a cocky pose, with his arms crossed and his body leaning against a bookshelf. He then goes on to taunt Ventus, telling him that "Terra won't be Terra anymore" and that Ventus will never see Terra again. Vanitas' loathing for friendship shows when this makes Ventus angry, pretty much scoffing at him and calling the reaction "stupid". He leaves at a cliffhanger of the conversation, an act that he has a tendency to do throughout the game.

He's also shown to be extremely calculating, as shown the first time he's seen in the current time in-game. When asked by Master Xehanort what he thinks of Ventus' performance, he plays it down, saying that it was no good. Vanitas already had a plan for the other male, though, to make him stronger. He was going to "send him on an adventure".

Also, he likes to break the rules. He states pretty much this as he attempts to finish off Ventus when he fights him for the first time. Obviously it doesn't matter much to Vanitas what people think or say to him, if it's not in his agenda...you should forget about it.

He likes to think he's in charge of the conversation, and hates being interrupted, as he snapped at Aqua when she broke in to a question in Radiant Garden. During that same visit, Vanitas tells Aqua that she is his "plan B". An impulsive move that acknowledged her skills with the keyblade, but also one that he takes back later.

Vanitas loves enraging people into a fight, like when he broke Ventus' keyblade in front of Aqua to get her to fight. He also angers Ventus into a fight by threatening to kill Aqua, the fight that ultimately ended in creating the X-Blade. Really, Vanitas will do anything to get under people's skin, or rub salt on old wounds. He knows how people have attachments to useless (according to him) things, and exploits those things in an attempt to defeat them.

Finally, even though he's mellow of the most part of the game, it's quickly shown at the end how completely mad for power he is by the end of the game. He wanted the X-Blade so much that he would have done anything for it, to anybody. Again, being the essence of darkness doesn't necessarily leave much room to care a whole lot about other people's feelings and lives.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :

+ He’s a strong fighter, and fast as well.
+ He’s got the power of darkness, which he knows how to use like…well the back of his hand.
+ He can control Unversed, creatures that respond to negative emotions.
- Vanitas is very cocky and overconfident in his abilities, something that may be able to be taken advantage of.
- Since he’s pure darkness, light is distasteful to him. Anything that associates to light.
- He’s just. Not a nice and social person.

[ Other Important Facts ] :

He’s the other side of Ventus’ heart, and pure Darkness and blahblah X-Blade. Oh and a little psychotic.

[ Sample ] :

Well now. This wasn’t good.

Golden eyes scanned the area, but before he could be seen, the mask covered his face again. Black hair would have been the most a person would probably have been able to see - he had to keep appearances, after all. Just in case he ran into someone he didn’t want to run into, he didn’t want to run the risk of being found out.

As he started to walk, his footsteps were soundless on the ground he walked on. There hadn’t been anything to stop them. The forging of the X-Blade shouldn’t have been stopped.

Yet it was. By this strange place.

…It was only then that he realized he was wet. Just another inconvenience though, something he could take in stride. But first, he had to confirm Ventus’ whereabouts. Where was he? Had he been brought here too?

“Even if he is hiding, I’ll find him. We still have to complete the forging, after all.”

The sneer was evident in his voice. Of course Ventus was here - he had to be here. It was just a matter of where.

Watch out Ventus, he’s coming.

[ Questions? Comments? Concerns? ] : uhhh…would he be able to keep the ability to summon Unversed? also! any rules about spoilers or whatever? I know BBS has been out for a while, but I'm just. Making sure.

July: (because i'm too lazy to make a new entry)
