yes people...for those of you who know about last night's karaoke
contest...I'm happy to say...that 7 people took the stage and only one
man walked away with a giant wooden corona plaque and a gift
certificate for 10 people to bowl for free with food/soda/name
tags/some lame prize...and...a "party coordinator"...I'm most excited
about the party coordinator...unfortunately 10 people came out to
support me...and THEY will be at the party...hehe...it was an
alternative theme...so I scrambled to pick a proper song...undone the
sweater song was ultimately my choice...I know all the party talking
voice-overs verbatim...so I crossed my fingers that I'd be able to use
those...that the parts would be in there...and they were...it was my
secret weapon...alternative is such a broad genre and I thought there
would be some cheating...much to my dismay, after the first girl sang
spiderwebs by no doubt...a guy sang a bowie song...NOT ALTERNATIVE...I
was quite peeved, but I didn't let it get to me...then...the next
guy...my biggest competition(about 45 years old, 5'5" with black
bug-eyed sunglasses, a portly fellow with a slightly feminine shiny
black leather jacket straight out of 1987) sang space
oddity...WHAT?????...now I'm pissed...and annoyed that I know what it
feels like to actually have something riding on one's karaoke
performance...anyways...I sucked it up...hopped on stage...and sang my
heart out...as you all know...I always try to "bring it" when I sing
karaoke...and last night was no exception...I'm proud of my
performance...especially since there was a private party there...all
hipster sonic boom employees...bah!...Elyse...the first few times I
sang karaoke without you...I was like "how can I sing without
elyse???!"...but now that I've had quite a few rounds without you...I
feel like I've embarked on a successful solo career...however...I'm
dying for our reunion...
