So, here's my motherly message for everyone who has read about Colleen and Andrew's accident:
I have witnessed some of the unfortunate driving habits of certain members of the Point Posse, and there are a few among us who need to remember the importance of slow, cautious driving ESPECIALLY in bad weather. I'm not talking about those of us to make honest mistakes or occasional flukes....I'm really concerned about the HABITUAL speeders and swervers who laugh it off or think slower drivers are "grannies" or whatever the hell goes on in your heads. Let this be a lesson to ALL OF US about taking our time and using our common sense behind the wheel. Driving is not a game, a race, or a time to show off. When in doubt, SLOW DOWN or STOP your trip completely. Don't be nutty in high-density traffic! Stick to your guns and remember that if you fuck up and kill yourself, your loved ones are the ones who will suffer, NOT YOU, and therefore the choice to drive wrecklessly is a SELFISH one. There is NO EXCUSE to CHOOSE to drive carelessly. Do you see how Colleen and Andrew have both likely learned from their experience? Can't you please do them the service of learning as well???
On a positive note, special kudos to the carload of WB-area peeps who chose not to drive to GB for Mike's b-day last December. I want to apologize to you because we laughed at you guys for choosing to avoid the possible bad weather, and we even occasionally brought up an inside joke relating to your choice: "I can't come to [insert location here, often someplace five minutes away, in perfectly clear driving conditions] because the roads are too snowy." Who the hell am I to judge when I was 100 miles away? We can all do well to follow your example!!!
I LOVE YOU ALL ALIVE MORE THAN DEAD!!! (Undead? Well, that's on a case-by-case basis:)
