You know what really gets to me… smoking. Two days in a row I am driving home or to work with my windows open, enjoying the first warm weather of the year and I have to roll them up because the person as far as 3 cars in front of me is smoking. The smoke fills up my car and the fresh smell of spring is gone as the word Cancer visualizes in front of me. This smoker chooses to smoke and instead of blowing the smoke into their car, with their windows rolled up, like they should be, they blow it outside into my car. What the hell? And yes I said their windows should be rolled up while they smoke… what, no smoker’s going to want that much smoke in their car? Do you think I do?
Grr.
I never understood why people smoke because I could never find one real benefit of smoking. I think, if a smoker hasn’t been living in a cave for the last 40 years, then they know all the harmful effects and see how much money they are spending on cigarettes, therefore any good reason for smoking is just an excuse for addiction. And how many times have I seen the familiar spectacle of a smoker saying, “I should quit…” as they take a drag.
And I think we can agree that the theory that smoking makes you look cool is thrown out the window when you see a group of smokers standing outside a restaurant or bar smoking in 40 degree weather because they’re not allowed inside. My roommate’s dog has to go outside to poop because we don’t want that crap inside… I’m just saying.
