Book Review: Galagolia

Let me start off my review with saying that I am a huge fan of the author! At 15 years old she was able to accomplish what many strive to do which is to write a book and get a book deal and for that I find her completely inspiration and her personality just makes her completely fantastic!

The amount of imagination in it; its brilliant how the author created the world of Galagolia. I loved that Main Characters are Emirati, which is something you see very rarely. World building is brilliant; makes me want to read more about the actual kingdom of Galagolia in the next books. I have to say that I liked the fact that Hamad is actually considered to be more of a main character than a side one and how much he and Maitha share a bond together. I liked that the Spells are actually in Arabic

At first I found Maitha slightly annoying but then I tended to forget that she is only 10 and therefore it was realistic that she acted the way that she did. I did find her too trusting however it could be a character flaw done very well or naivety which is apart of her character. I am hoping to see a lot of character development in the next book, especially Maitha seeing that she is thrown into this world and has seen pretty gruesome (and bloody) things happen in front of her. Not to mention she killed the villain (who I have the feeling is gonna come back in the next books for some reason) and because of.

I also enjoyed Galagalent and Gustavio's characters very well and oddly enough Aunt Alyaa. I am also very curious to see how the characters are going to start treating Galagalent after they found out about him and the villain; in that moment I would understand them wanting to rely on them but what he did could break a few trust bonds which could be very difficult to fix. I am curious to know the backstory of Aunt Alyaa and her brothers; I think exploring that could be something that would give all of the characters some depth.

The last couple of chapters were real page turners for me; I couldn't stop reading them

I found the dialogue needs a bit of work though; however the book was a great read for what it is and I am excited to read the rest of the series when it comes out.
