Day 08: The Pairing with the most Baggage?
Mario and Setsuko
This was so hard to choose, I couldn't really find a pairing with a lot of baggage worthy to be placed in this category ... until I found Rainbow and started to watch it.
These two aren't really the best couple, I didn't even like them at the beginning but as this episode began to move forward I slowly started to root for them a little.
Mario: Convict who was thrown into jail at 17 for beating up a teacher. Escaped Prison and is now a wanted criminal who the police are working for. He was planning revenge on an officer who killed Sakusagi, a guy he he met in this cell and Idolized, considered him as a big brother to him during the time that he has known him.
Setsuko :The Jail nurse who has taken their side because she has seen that they are really not so bad of guys after all. She was in love with Sakuragi and has had a relationship with him, though short she was devestated when she found out that he was killed. I believe she was still in love with him even after he died in a long time.
Mario developed feelings for Setsuko but he couldnt come out and say it because he knew that she was in love with his big brother (Sakuragi) and he thought that he would betray him if he would hook up with her. He also could not help his attraction to her even though he knew he had nothing to offer as, being a criminal on the loose would place her in danger and he knew about it.
Setsuko was arranged to get married and that was the breaking point for Mario, he confessed his feelings for her and she gave into him and to temptation.
lets just say that this couple did not get the ending that I was hoping for, which is both of them ending up together in the end.
