High School Adolescent
I should have wanted to dance more, twirl more, tell more lies. I should have wanted to enjoymy hormones, blam my decisions on them. I should have wanted to trust love and honorlust. I should have wanted to pay more attention to who I wanted to be rather than to who I truly was. I should have wanted all of that.
I should have wanted to ask more questions, been more curious. I should have wanted to put out fires and started waves. I should have wanted to avoid promises, walk faster, talk less. I should have wanted to jump up from the swing so that I could feel like I was flying. I should have wanted to break bones and hearts, bruise faces. I should have wanted to try less. I should have wanted to sigh more. I should have but I didn't want any of that.
