Finding myself caught in boredom from monotonous homework reading, my eyes wandered to the steady flame of a votive candle I had recently lit. I moved closer to become blind by the flame but noticed something-- something intriguing. Tiny debris had gathered in the self-enclosed pool of liquidized candle. The pieces of debris were moving toward the wick as if being magnetically attracted. However, when they came close enough to touch it, they were reflected. The process would then start up again-- a never ending cycle so long as there is fire. I have one thought to why this happens, but am unsure and would like to know the answer.
