"'Cause I'm Not Much At Punching Other People's Dads..."

I'm back!

...also resisting the urge to talk like a LOL cat ("I'z on ur LJ, killing ur boredom")

I do that far too often nowadays.

Anyway, I'm waving to all of you out there with my words (and possibly some kind of hentai-esque tentacular limb) and hoping everyone is well and if engaging in NaNoWriMo or exams, going well.

Because I know you've all been waiting with baited breath to hear, Stoogey has been found! I came home just before to find that my room had been rearranged slightly (which I take to indicate that my father has been in here vaccuuming because I really don't do it often enough) and that Stoogey was laying just behind my bedside table; peering up at me with its four faces and censuring me for leaving it alone so long. I gave it a spin to make it feel better and can now sleep easily.

In case no one noticed, I've been in Geelong for nearly three weeks with my beloved. Some of you know this all too well (hi, Ben! Friend me already, gees!) and some must have been under rocks or some such not to notice.

Not a huge amount to report other than a pair of fabulous new shoes (deliciously nostalgic extra-high wedges that make me taller than Andrew), that I climbed Hanging Rock for the first time and with minimal whinging and that I ate a rather large wedge of Edam the other day (in one hit too, as we were watching 'Saturday Night Fever') and am still impressed by this.

Here's a brief list of things I am excited about:

Daniel's birthday/housewarming: because I like Daniel lots, because I know there'll be aaaaaaawesome people to talk to and because I'll get to spiff myself up.

Lisa's birthday: I've just glanced at the email and am planning outfits already!

Coming home to my perfectly organised underwear drawer and shoe collection: living out of a suitcase, so to speak, inhibits my genius :(

Stoogey!: Mummy missed you!

However, my beloved will be dearly missed while we are separated (he needs to get work done and I'm distracting and a doona hog).

To close now, I shall implore all writers (of ship-less dark fiction and poetry) and photographers to try their luck at submitting work to a wonderful new literary journal that I've just begun to work with. Cerulean Rain is currently seeking pieces for the very first issue (due soon) and while I can't gurantee you'll be published, it's a great opportunity to get some exposure for your work and very gratifying being able to consider yourself a 'professional'. To contact the editors, hit the 'submit' link below the header and address your query to the relevant email address listed.

Finally, here's a kid who looks far too happy with himself considering:

This is pretty much the pictorial definition of a 'doofus'.

cerulean rain, doofus, stoogey
