Day 10: Maria von Trapp (The Sound of Music)
"Oh, no, sir, I'm sorry, sir. I could never answer to a whistle. Whistles are for dogs and cats and other animals, but not for children, and definitely not for me. It would be too... humiliating.
I have loved Maria von Trapp (despite not being able to spell her last name for the past nine days) since I was six years old. The Sound of Music was my absolute favourite movie then, and it's still one of my favourite movies still. And you know, Maria is a huge part of that. She's so wonderfully idealistic and ideal, and so peppy and cute and I want her as my governess. She takes these children and ends up caring for them and loving them, and she gets that it's some attention and a bit of fun that they want. I love her interactions with each of the children, especially Liesel, and I love how she's awkward and scared of the Captain she gets when she realises she has feelings for him. And she/Julie Andrews is just breath-taking.
