Case Open!....er....Closed? Meep?
Well! YAY! There's a community for JouMai haters, and I'm damn proud to be one of them! Now, I get to rant, and possibly sound smart about it!
Case One: The Age Difference
- First off, before there's the defense that age is nothing but a number, stop right there. Sure it's nothing but numbers, but maturity falls into this factor. Jou is far less mature than Mai is. As far as I'm concerned, Mai's had her teen years; you're only a teenager once. Jounouchi on the other hand has just started his (or something of that nature), therefore, It's possible to say that Mai knows a hell of a lot more than he does. I don't think Mai would subject herself to an idiot. >> *pets Jou-kun*
Case Two: Two-faced!Mai
- When it comes to Jounouchi, Mai becomes two-faced. I don't like two-faced Mai, because that causes me to yell at my TV screen and bash Mai. Mai is a cool character and she shouldn't have to totally turn into this other person because of Jounouchi.
Battle City: Jounouchi looked like he was on the losing end of the battle against Rishid, and Mai actually stopped believing that Jounouchi could pull through; the situation did look rather grim for him, being that he had no monsters, 200 LPs, and no facedown cards...Annnyways, suddenly that bitch Yami Yuugi says "Look at his eyes!" and blah blah, and suddenly: "O_O OMFG! He CAN win! GO JOUNOUCHI!" In my opinion, Jounouchi should've been able to prove Mai wrong, not have the dead guy tell her to look in his eyes. I'm sure that even she could've figured it out on her own.
Doma: Mai blames Jounouchi for her being trapped in the Shadow Realm, when in reality, she lost to Malik on her own and got herself put in there, >>;; Jounouchi nearly died trying to save Mai- you could say he did, but whatever- he nearly died for her, and how does he get repaid? By having Mai (who was silly for beliving Dartz could make her feel better with a pretty soul stealing card) blame him for her wrong doing. If I'm correct, Mai accepts her defeats and losses, so why would she let Jounouchi drive her crazy?
Note, Mai also wouldn't take advantage of people either; she normally wouldn't have challenged Jounouchi directly after the tiresome duel with Varon. I think she would've waited for the right moment.
u.u Note, Nero also blames Dartz for the cheesy soul scene where Mai holds Jounouchi. Not to mention I also believe that creators wanted some god forsaken reason to have Mai leave the dark side.
Case Three: Maturity

Case Four: THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS STRICTLY PLATONIC! >< THEY WILL NOT BE GETTING TOGETHER ANY TIME SOON, SO STFU POLARSHIPPING FANGIRLS! And a special STFU to beckett magazine for actually thinking there's a developing love story between Jou and Mai. (shudder)
Case Five: Arrogantshipping
- Seto's much more maturer than Jounouchi. Mai likes mature guys. Need I say more? XD! I'm just messin with people. Case Five is invalid to me, but not Catie. Cause she likes Arrogantshipping. XD!
Case Six: >> Puppyshipping
I don't think Seto would take too lightly to his puppy going after someone older than him. ^___^ *watches Seto crack whip and drag Jounouchi off somewhere*
