so i guess it's about time i updated again...
i'm here, at my new home. (a.k.a. new york university) and i love it. i love it so much.
for starters, i completely lucked out with my room. i'm in a suite, with a kitchen, bathroom, and four closets. my room is kind of secluded and we have 2 windows on different sides of the building. through one window is a view of the beautiful sunset and sillouettes every night. through the other is a perfect view of the empire state building. it's absolutely amazing. and i've already decorated and settled in, it's great.
then there are my roommates. once again, i totally lucked out. we all get along SO well, and we are made for each other, even though we're all very different. parisa is in the other room, and she is actually from commack. she goes to gallatin and she rocks, she sings too! and has a beautiful voice. annie is in the other room as well, and she is awesome. she's from san francisco, and is so cute. we like a lot of the same music.
then there is christine. ohhhh christine, my wonderful roommate from the upper east side. we are extremely different people, but in two weeks, we've grown to love each other and get along so well, it's ridiculous. there's just so much mutual respect and interest and everything. man, it could not have worked out any better. <3
my classes are pretty good. i'm taking: writing the essay; conversations of the west: antiquity and the renaissance; business structures of the music industry; music history; and a few seminars. and vocal jazz ensemble. and private jazz piano lessons.
there's a lot of reading involved in my academic classes, but it's ok. it's good for me.
i haven't been sleeping too much. this whole independence and freedom thing is pretty overwhelming. i've been taking complete advantage of it.
and it's awesome to have so many great smithtown kids here as well. i see jeff, casey, and varin all the time. as well as christina lang.
also, gotta love hanging out at drew and mike's apartment regularly. they decorated it all cool and stuff. random sidenote: seeing mike drunk is hysterical; the drunker he gets, the more his clothes come off...
we've been doing a lot of fun things around here. there's so much to do. i mean seriously, we're in fucking new york city... i still can't believe i'm here.
well i miss everyone at other schools. even if it doesn't seem like i do, because i'm terrible at the "keeping in touch" stuff, i really do. but i've been keeping busy, so i haven't really had time to lament about the end of our fantastic summer.
i'm just so happy here. meeting new people and such...
ooooo and i just got a digital camera for my birthday, so eventually i'll post pictures of my new friends here. so you can all see who i'm talking about.
well that's it for now. hopefully i'll start updating this thing more.
love,
