In the wake of the MPs' expenses and second homes scandals, I've argued (elsewhere) for a high-security* "hall of residence", and even a disused cruise ship moored on the Thames somewhere, as possible solutions for those out-of-town-constituency Members currently clogging-up the London property market. It's all a frightful nuisance, of course, and if we had proper regional assemblies there would be no reason for filthy northern scum, or carrot-crunching south-western yokels, to be making the Capital look so untidy. Hey ho...

But lo - here's a potentially even better idea which might even help to justify the pointless money pit of the whole London 2012 Olympics fiasco:
