Sweet...and sour.

This is really just a short, "found gems" special, since I'm snowed under at the moment (figuratively speaking, although the rest of the week promises a modicum of flaky reality to follow).

"There are 10 types of people in the world - those who understand binary, and those who don't." - J. Paxman.

"Before you criticise someone, walk a mile in their shoes. Then, when you do criticise 'em, you'll be a mile away and have their shoes." - Anon.

And, however dire things may be at the moment, Timothy Ferriss' book still holds a certain appeal:

Muso Note Edit: Ian McShane (Lovejoy, Deadwood, etc.) provided the narration on the accompanying track. It's mostly a lot of pretentious wank about Art (written by Paul Morley) but never mind...

Global Political Aside Edit: Taking the suggestion that individuals within Pakistan's intelligence services may have had some involvement in the Bombay attacks with a pinch of salt only seems advisable at this juncture:

However, since the parallel has already been drawn, blaming the government of Pakistan makes about as much sense as America blaming the regime in Saudi Arabia for the events of 9/11.

techie badness, going global, economics, books, intelligence services, links, trivia, quotations, a little bit o' politics
