Amazingly enough, I didn't eat that either. Or anything combining cottage cheese, mandarine oranges and jello.

I am so pleased to know that you are in a place where you're happy. The self-doubt and lonliness that hung over you in August is clearing away.

Of course the City of Entropy is a little lonely without you, but there's always this little glowing box with wires. It seems to be working out well.

Most impressive! You are definitely missed around here, however. And I'm sure you are sad to have missed the Rochester relatives.

Yes, I weep at the lack of familial contact. No, wait.

I am sorry to have missed you, though. You'll be around at Christmas, right? I'm going to have some serious catching-up to do when I'm back for winter break.

Wow! Your counter and your flowers look wonderful! Excellent tea-snuggy! And that's a neat stool that I don't recognize. Have I ever seen it? It's neat. And how about that shiny small table, with nothing on it!! Beautiful! We missed you, and everybody says Hi, and Hat's Off to you, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Yes, I'm pretty sure I can get back in time for Christmas, and certainly for New Year's. And then I'm helping the Professor move to Ithaca. It's not exactly looking like a restful vacation.

Yeah, happy late T-day. Um. What IS that green thing, exactly?

It's lime jello with pink grapefruit, festively served in a decorative grapefruit rind. My family has made them for every major holiday since I can remember. When my brother and I got old enough, we started making fun of them, so now they're a running joke as well as an ongoing tradition.
