It was indeed the line breaks which were causing the problems. I still don't know exactly what was causing the difficulties with the line breaks, but I suspect it has to do with encoding differences between Windows and Mac machines. I am grateful to

So now the
Oz series has been officially added to the gallery. I started these images a year ago, during the summer when I was trying to come to terms with the idea that a former friend had decided I was a mindlessly destructive force of nature, comparable to an F4 tornado. I pointed out that riding the whirlwind was the only way to get over the rainbow, christened myself Anticyclone, and moved to the Emerald City. It made some kind of sense at the time.
There really should be one more image in the series. There's no place like home, they say, and I'd like to have a picture of what home looks like, only I haven't found it yet. I'm hoping I'll recognize it when it turns up.
Instead of home, I made myself some comfort food: an experimental curry-ish lamb and lentil stew. It turned out to be really good, which is fortunate, since I ended up with about forty gallons of it. It's funny that I should be making stew, since I never used to like the stuff. But it's warm and fragrant and substantial, and makes me feel like maybe things aren't as bad as I suspect, even if I am sometimes a mindlessly destructive force of nature.
