but I feel good

After the crazy mess that was Kentucky Derby Production at work, yesterday and today have felt so calm and relaxed and it's awesome. Everything has seemed to slow down and warm up a bit, too.

Thursday was insane. Just completely and totally insane, both good and bad. Friday I got to work at 6am and left a little after 1pm so I could nap before dinner and the Blue Man Group concert later. My mother and I went with Nila and her mom to Red Robin for dinner (after Smokey Bones was scratched off, and Bennigans looked too busy) and then made our way, almost literally, across the highway-like street to Wachovia Arena for the concert. We had really good seats, yay! My mother and I had seem them before at The Venetian in Las Vegas, though at separate times, while Nila and her mom had never seen them. The opening act, Mike Relm, was a whole lot better than I expected. He was billed as Multimedia DJ Mike Relm, and shit, definitely delivered. He even DJ'ed a little for the Blue Men. But the Blue Men Group were amazing. Not quite the same as Vegas (which truthfully I enjoyed a tad more for multiple reasons) but I still had an awesome time and laughed a lot.

Yesterday I half expected some kind of note left for me that something went wrong with the machines, but no such note! Nice! The machines ran beautifully, even after running almost constantly for 2 days straight. (That like never happens, I don't think it even happened last year like this.) And today, the same. It's nice out, I have all the files and can leave early without hurting my hours. I may or may not go see the movie "21" later (haha, yes I am in a slight Vegas mood.) If not tonight, then sometime this week. My friend doesn't feel 100% so I don't want her to over exert herself if she doesn't need to.

I also really want to see "Baby Mama" and I don't normally go see those kinds of films, but Amy Poehler looks hilarious and paired up with Tina Fey is even better. I know Nila wants to see it as well as my mother, so I'd like the three of us at least to go see it, maybe bring Nila's mom along too. I don't remember if she wanted to see it or not.

Once I leave work, my weekend starts. *whew*

And tomorrow may be Cinco de Mayo, but it's also the one year anniversary of the day we put my dog Foodles down. Meh, I miss him. :[
