It will come as a surprise to no one that my recent and longest attempt to escape the City has failed. Days pass with little accomplished; it leaves one almost discouraged.

I've been gathering information regarding escaping the city myself for awhile now, to little avail, alas.

And umm, it seems some of our items don't have very high opinions of us. Not sure if that's better or worse than the ones who seem to be in love with their owners...

...No, that is true. It would be best if they could lose this particular trait of theirs, and soon.

I've been meaning to post it, but have been waiting to gather a bit more information from those who were part of the recent mass exodus from the city. A few of them have started coming back...

To have taken a bearer without this bond? Odd. Incompatible? Leave.

Uh, Bright Shield not everyone can choose their bearers like you...

I really rather hope that it's just the curses twisting their opinions otherwise--

Yes, all of the people who recently disappeared en masse have been returning with their memories intact. Well, ignoring that one curse day that erased the memories of half the city population... Since many of the people who left did not want to, and all of the people I know who wanted to leave did not, I'm rather suspicious that the last rash of disappearances may just be the city trying to further play with our heads.

Little potential can be reached without harmony with the bearer.
