There seems to be an abundance of confusion regarding Christmas, or the "traditional" read "commercial" Yultide holidays that my world and many within the city are familiar with, leading me to be tempted to post a brief explanation about it. I cannot speak for other worlds, but the terms "yule" and "christmas" do exist in mine. There are other holidays celebrated in this season, but in recent years Western commercialism has made "Christmas" popular outside of even the Western hemisphere. Of course, given that the holiday has become very commercial, some want to call it "X-Mas ( ... )

So there really is more to it than I thought. I was just under the impression that people in other worlds really liked holidays where they give gifts.

It required a little more context.

There is, and there isn't. I doubt any of that background will become relevant outside of certain plays and church practices. It's mostly about giving gifts.
