Lips stiff against her forceful desperation, he struggles with the fading recollection of a man whose life has been long since spent.
She pushes him against the damp earth and begins to shed her button-down (and three years of Hell along with it), claiming him.
An antagonizing feeling creeps into the pit of his stomach, mocking him in this fragile moment.
As she thrusts her hips against his own, his conscious replaces the dirty face and matted mess of hair with a dark-eyed memory.
