A/N Just a quick note - I've recently received some beta assistance on another fic, from the lovely boltgirl426. So from this post onward, I'll be applying some of her good advice to this fic, too. I'm also busy re-editing all the previous parts of it with some necessary changes, and I'll start re-posting them as such soon!
Shout out to boltgirl426 - thanks for the help!

Road Trip, Day Seventeen

* * *

Mary was standing by the window the next morning. "They're already waiting by the car." she said.

"Let them wait. Only freakin' serves 'em right."

Mary raised her eyebrows at Sue's still-indignant tone. Both of them had rambled on angrily about the boys until the wee hours of the morning.

"Fuck, it's hot," Mary said, heading for her bag on the bed, "what the heck am I suppose to wear?"

Sue immediately came over, taking Mary's bag from her. She turned it over, dumping all the clothes out on the bed.

"Hey!" Mary protested.

Sue pretended not to hear her, rifling through the clothes.

"Here," she finally said, chucking something at Mary.

Mary unfolded the material, holding it up. She gave Sue a questioning frown. "This?" It was one of the results of their Vegas shopping spree. A floaty, flowery - but really pretty - summer dress. Mary recalled trying it on, the way it had seemed to have been made for her, the cut flattering her in all the right places.

"Well, the weather's perfect for it, isn't it? You bought it to wear it, right?"

Mary considered it, and nodded. "Yeah, what the hell - you're right."

*

Sue exited the room first, heading towards the car with a lazy pace. Mary was lagging behind, still struggling her hair into a messy, loose braid.

Dean threw up his hands. "Freakin' finally - what the hell were you two doing in there?! We've been waiting for almost two hours!"

Sue just gave him a look.

"Where's Mare?" Sam queried.

Just then, Mary came out of the motel room. She closed the door behind her, locking it.

Dean grinned broadly at the sight of her. "Well I'll be - would you look at that?!" He swung an arm around Mary's shoulders as she reached them, blushing furiously at Dean's attention.

"Don't you look just adorable?" Dean teased.

Mary muttered a 'shut up, Dean', ducking out from under his arm, and tossed the room key at Sue.

Dean nudged Sam, "Don't you think so, Sammy? She looks really nice, doesn't she?"

As big as he was, Sam suddenly seemed like he was trying to shrink, or something. Ducking his head, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. "Uh... sure - yeah. She... looks... nice," he mumbled, looking everywhere ACCEPT at Mary.

Dean raised his eyebrows. "Ookay - awkward." He glanced at Sue, who rolled her eyes, and he shrugged at her apologetically. It wasn't his fault his brother was so hopeless.

"Well then, let's hit the road, shall we?" he announced finally.

Both Sam and Mary seemed thankful for the excuse to lunge for their doors, getting in the car hastily.

Sue and Dean shared another meaningful look. "This is never gonna work, is it?" Sue queried wearily.

Dean sighed. "Well I'm all out of ideas. Unless Mother Nature can step in? Give Sam a serious case of Blue Balls, or something..." he shrugged.

Sue snorted. "Yeah, if even THAT'll help to snap him out of it."

They both sighed again, and then got into the car as well.

*

"Jeez - I think we've driven straight into a heat-wave," Sam complained, rolling down his window.

Mary, sitting directly behind him in the backseat, was currently mesmerized by the drops of sweat in the nape of Sam's neck, dampening the ends of his hair. Thank goodness for her ever-present pillow, today. She'd been going nuts in this dress, having to keep her legs together - the slick sweat between her thighs, sticking her skin together. So she'd opted to splay out - being lady-like in a dress be damned - and just stuffed the pillow between her legs.

Sue, beside her, was in much the same state - pillow between her legs. Though she also had her feet propped up, slightly hanging over the headrest of the front seat.

Mary watched as Dean surreptitiously glanced at Sue's bare feet out of the corner of his eye. His jaw clenched, hands tightening a little on the steering wheel. Mary suppressed a smirk, and nudged Sue with her elbow.

She nodded carefully in Dean's direction. It was a mark of how well the two of them understood each other, without words, that Sue realized instantly what Mary was pointing out.

Mary could tell by the sudden change on Sue's face, as she looked into the rear view mirror, that she must have caught Dean looking directly at her. Because right now, Sue was very subtly eye-fucking Dean. From what Mary could see from her angle, Dean was very probably doing it right back.

Sue took it a step further, stretching languidly, legs sticking over the seat even more. She kept her eyes on the rear view the whole time.

"Dude - car's swerving," Sam pointed out. He turned, glancing at Sue's legs, then frowning at her. "Do you mind?"

Sue rolled her eyes, bringing her legs off the back of the seat.

Dean didn't say a word, correcting the car on the road. After a few minutes, he asked Sam for a bottle of water, his voice croaky.

"Water's getting warm. We should stop to get some ice, or something," Sam said, handing Dean a bottle. "I saw a sign a... uh... few..." he lapsed into silence.

Dean frowned. "Dude - what?" He looked at Sam in confusion.

Sam was turned sideways in the seat, his face a little red. He was throwing careful glances in Mary's direction.

Then Sue burst out laughing.

Dean glanced back too. He grinned. "You were saying, Sammy?"

"I, uh - just, we should... stop, somewhere." He settled back in his seat, doing the awkward trying to shrink thing again.

Dean chuckled, Sue still doing the same.

Mary frowned at her in confusion. "What's so funny?"

Dean and Sue's eyes met in the rear view once more, both of them laughing anew again.

Mary continued frowning. The heat was clearly making everyone loopy.

* * *

There was a knock on the bathroom door, followed by Sam's voice. "Uh - Mare? The air con just went out."

Mary spat her mouthful of toothpaste into the sink. "What?!"

She went over and yanked the door open. The heat from the room hit her, causing her to stagger back a pace. "Holy fuck - it's like a freakin' sauna!"

"Huh - yeah," Sam huffed a little laugh, though not sounding amused at all, "I hadn't noticed."

Mary tutted, grumpy look on her face as she pushed past Sam into the room.

About an hour later, Mary was lying flat on her back, with a damp washcloth on her belly, and a melting bucket of ice on the nightstand beside her.

She leaned over to dip the washcloth into the bucket for the hundredth time, drying out the access water, before slapping it back onto her stomach where she had her top rucked up.

Sam, on the other bed, smirked at her silly little yelp when the cold cloth hit her skin. She pulled a face at him.

"Is that even helping?" Sam asked, amused.

Mary had her eyes closed. "I'm trying to imagine that it's working. Sshh..."

She heard Sam snorting, and cracked open an eye to look at him. Which she probably should rather not have done, Mary thought with a twist in her stomach.

He was drinking from a bottle of water, head back, his throat working. In his jeans and wifebeater, showing off those gorgeous arms, he was just BEGGING to be jumped. Or rather, Mary's hormones were begging her to jump him. Good thing the heat hadn't melted ALL her common sense away, yet.

Though she seriously needed some distraction. Eying the ice bucket, sudden inspiration struck her. Getting up quietly, so Sam wouldn't notice, she took an already melting ice-cube from the bucket. As fast as she could, she leaned over and slipped it inside Sam's wifebeater.

"JESUS! That's COLD - Mare!" he instantly protested, getting off the bed, reaching back to try and get rid of the ice. Mary smirked at him.

"What? It's probably already melted, anyway."

Sam shook his head at her, frowning, though she could see him struggling not to smile. "You'd better watch it when I go get us a fresh bucket of ice later," he warned her. Then he pulled off his wifebeater.

Mary actually had to physically suppress a groan - and her body's urge to just lunge forward, and... well, she didn't really know what.

Sam met her eyes, and the two of them just looked at each other for several seconds.

Mary jumped in shock when there was a sudden knock on the door.

"You'll get that? I need a dry shirt." Sam said, heading for his duffel beside his bed.

Mary took a breath, and went towards the door. Before she reached it, there was another insistent knock.

"Hello? You still alive in there?" Came Sue's voice.

Mary rolled her eyes. "Keep your pants on! I'm coming."

When she finally swung the door open, Sue gave her a naughty grin. "Coming, huh? Shit - so sorry I interrupted that. Didn't think Sam had it in him."

Sam joined Mary at the door. "What's up Chili? Dean kick you out?" He had a sarcastic little smile on his face.

Sue frowned. "Only Dean gets to call me that."

Sam's expression plainly said 'I don't give a shit'.

"Now now, kids - play nice," Mary said. She looked at Sue. "So... what IS up? Did he kick you out?"

"No! Our room's air con went out."

"Your's too?! Jeez - we picked the wrong damn motel this time." Mary said vehemently.

"Well - wanna come join me outside? By the car? It's cooler out, at least."

Mary considered it, and turned to Sam.

He just shrugged. "Sure. It'll be better than staying here and dying of heat-stroke, I suppose." He looked at Sue, "If I'm invited, that is?"

"I'd like to say no, but your brother's already there, and he said to come ask, so... " she put on a miffed face.

Sam smiled. "Okay then."

*

"I'm bored." Sue announced.

"Well that's nothing new," Dean muttered in reply.

The girls were both lounging on the hood of the car. After much protest from Dean, Mary had informed him that her and Sue didn't weigh enough to dent it.

Him and Sam were beside the car, working their way through a six-pack of beer.

Sue wriggled a little where she lied. "I'm actually kinda horny, too," she said, more to Mary, but Dean snickered from next to them.

"Yeah - THAT'S nothing new, either."

Sue ignored him.

"It's probably the damn heat," Mary half-whispered to Sue, "'cause I know what you mean - believe me." She spoke a little louder, "And here we are - all dressed up with no-one to do."

She and Sue both giggled at the incredulous looks the boys gave them.

"You call this dressed up?" Dean queried, tugging on the hem of Sue's very tiny pajama shorts.

"Sure. Don't you think so?" The look Sue gave him spoke volumes, not to mention the sultry tone in her voice.

Dean hastily pulled his hand away.

Sam raised his eyebrows. "Hoo boy - here we go."

After a few minutes' silence, Sue loudly voiced her complaint again. "I'm HORNY!"

"So what d'you want us to do about it?" Sam asked.

Sue put on a yuk-face. "I definitely don't want YOU to do anything about it." She paused, "I want relief, dammit!"

"Walk it off. Take a jog around the block," Dean suggested.

Sue glared at his back. "I'm gonna start humping the damn car soon," she muttered.

Dean spluttered. "Hey! Don't molest my baby!"

Mary began laughing. "That would totally work, though! Dean could just start it up for us. I think the vibrations aught to do it, huh?"

Dean looked wounded. "I'm serious! Don't talk about her like that!"

"Well you help me out, then? How 'bout it?" Sue winked at Dean.

"How 'bout no," he deadpanned.

Sue rolled her eyes, sitting up straight. "Oh, c'mon - please? Just... help me a teeny, weeny bit?"

Dean snorted. "Yeah, suure - as if you'd settle for a 'teeny, weeny' bit," he said, mocking Sue's voice.

Sue tutted, frowning in affront, and pouting like a little girl. "Oh come ON! I promise I'll be good? I SWEAR it. Just... kiss me?"

"No."

"Give me your hand, then?"

"To do what with?"

"She probably wants to hump it, instead," Sam said, chuckling.

Sue threw a death-glare at him. "Please?" she asked Dean again.

"Nope." he shook his head, taking a swig from his beer bottle.

"A hug? Just a hug?"

Dean winked at Sue, smiling. "Sorry, Chili - not falling for it. I'll keep saying no all night if I have to."

Sue went back to the pout. Then she smiled, a little wickedly. "I'll beg if you want me to?" The tone of her voice made the words VERY suggestive, to say the least.

Dean frowned. "I'm serious, okay? Cut it the fuck out?"

Sue was instantly pissed. She launched a kick at Dean's leg, missing as he stepped back. "You're an ass-hole," she spat at him.

"And you're an annoying little bitch." Dean was smirking as he said it.

Sue narrowed her eyes at him. "Fucker."

"Pain in the ass."

"Wuss."

Dean frowned. "Why am I a wuss?"

"'Cause you won't help me," Sue smiled triumphantly.

Dean smirked right back. "Don't make me call you a slut, Chili."

Sue gasped. "You wouldn't."

"Try me," Dean said, taking a seemingly threatening step closer to the car.

"Okay - uh, I think that's... enough," Sam stepped in-between Dean and Sue, holding out his arms. He gave them both wary looks. "Are you planning on fighting or fucking? 'Cause I really can't tell."

Sue and Dean both seemed like they weren't really hearing him, staring each other down with such intensity, that it really WAS hard to tell whether they wanted to keep fighting, or just start screwing right there on the hood of the car.

Then Dean abruptly stepped back, shoulders slumping in what looked like relief. "Don't worry, Sammy. We're not gonna do either. Right?" He looked at Sue, appeal on his face.

Sue looked like she was ready to protest, but then she smiled - only Mary could tell it was the most fake smile ever. "Sure. Don't sweat it. You won't have to witness any live porn tonight, altar-boy."

Sam just rolled his eyes. "Whatever. I swear, you two are like a couple of kids."

"Or horny teenagers?" Mary pointed out.

"That, too." Sam agreed.

Sue and Dean said nothing.
