I'm currently reading 'The Origin of The Family, Private Property and The State' by Friedrich Engels. I like to get a good balance in my reading, so I'm looking for something similar to follow, written from a non-Marxist perspective - something like John Locke or Murray Rothbard would be good. I appreciate that this might not be the sort of community in which politics is debated, but if anyone can provide a recommendation I'd be most grateful. I'm particularly interested in the development of feudal society, again looking for non-Marxist sources on this.
