I completed a paper for a WWII history class last night, and I posted it to
feminist. It covered the mass rape in Berlin in 1945; I figured this might raise a debate. And debate it did!
I took an evolutionary approach to why men rape. There are so many theories, and for a 12 page paper, I couldnt cover them all. And ALOT of the women had issues with this theory -- saying it excused men, etc. I don't think it excused men in any way, at all. And then it dawned on me that it could have been my anthropological background. I haev studied evolution, in depth. So it makes perfect sense to me why its an evolutionary trait and why it doesnt excuse men. But for someone that hasnt had that, I could see why.
