Recently when I channel surfed I saw a little bit of a very interesting documentary. Sadly since I was in a great hurry to meet someone I couldn't stay at home and watch it. I don't remember even in what channel it was showed at (In Russian)and can't look the film up.
Now I really want to know some more about the topic that was discussed here but can't find it. Since in my hurry I didn't write down the names that were used.
So if anyone recognises the fallowing I would be very greatful for the help. And some of others in here might get interested too.
The documentary was about a shamanic princess whose grave was dug up by archeologist (sp?) some where in Russia I think. I am not sure when but I think it was in nineties.
The big problem with that was that the grave belonged to a saint and now her people want their shaman princess back and buried where she was dug up from but the archeologist (realy have to learn to spell that) and historians don't want to give the body back.
I remember that the people the princess belonged to looked like inuits/ and or native americans (only in warmer clothes) something like that. Since I don't know their real nationality these were the only examples in similarity I could think of (sorry for the great blunder)
I also remember that the body of the shaman princess was very well preserved. Her body was covered in tatoos (definitely her arms).
Also there was a mention of her having a sister (even twin but I am again not sure)who was buried near by. She hadn't been dug up yet and the locals hoped it would stay that way.
She was a saint because her task with her sister was to look after Earth in their graves/with their spirits. The locals also told that since one of the sisters was dug up the souls can't do it anymore and that was the cause of all the natural disasters.
The last fact I remember was that the body of the princess has also been toured around in the world in some major musieums.
So does anyone at all recognise know what I talk about?
I really want to read more about her but since I didn't hear her name (was always mentioned as a princess) I can't look her up with google.
The only results I get is the russian royalaty and their graves. That is an interesting topic too but not what I am looking for right now.
Sorry for my bad spelling but English is not my first language.
Hope this is not considered spam though there was nothing mentioned about searches in the community spam politics.
Again all the help will be appreaciated.
edit: Mother saw it too and remembered that the princess was Altaian (spelling)
So now I was able to find it.
Edit 2: Ah haaaa I found it. The woman was a Ukok Princess. Very interesting. Here are some links.
