Andean ethnographers...
Anyone know of any good Andean ethnographers? I just returned from doing some archaeological fieldwork in Peru and have ABSOLUTELY decided that I want to study identity and ethnohistory in the Andes. Andean worldviews are very interesting, and I think a susbumed investigation on the commodification of culture (and culture tourism) would buttress this type of research.
My problems are that a) I'm going to be in Ghana for two years before I apply to Grad school and, b) I need to not only find a good Andean ethnographer but also know that they would be good to study under in Grad school.
There are a few really good ones at NYU. Any NYU students here?
