Do any of you have any experience with being hired by a primate rescue organization? I'm sure I'd have to do an internship with them first, but I'm wondering how often they actually hire/how well they pay, since they all seem to be non-profit organizations, and probably can't afford to employ many people. I'm graduating with my BA in Anthropology next year, and I'm at a loss for what to do next. Graduate school seems like a waste of money, since I'm not interested in a career in academia. My interest lies in primates, specifically chimpanzees. I don't need to research them, I just want to be around them.
