Greeting eveyone! I'm an undergrad student, and I'm wondering if it is at all possible for me to get published in one of the journals. My prof thinks that I have a descent paper that would be of interesting among North Amercian scholars. I need your advice as to what publications would be interested in the topic. It's possible, just unlikely. The more prestigue the journal carries, the less likely your chances are. I published when I was just out of undergrad. That was a small miracle, but I found a journal that was just starting up and they really needed submissions to start with.

You might have the best chances with journals that are specifically for undergraduates to publish in. Also, part of the process of getting published would be to find the journals yourself. You can search the tags of callsforpapers to see what journals might be looking for a paper on your topic.

I'd agree with the above. You should look for a smaller journal focused on your subject and/or an undergrad-geared journal. There is no need in making it harder on yourself by going for the biggest prize (the top/most recognized/prestigious journal) at the very beginning of your career. Simply getting something published as an undergrad would look fantastic on your curriculum vitae ( ... )

Hi,
There's a European-based Social Science Journal for graduates called, imaginatively the Graduate Journal for Social Science: www.gjss.org
They might be receptive to a good undergrad paper. Also, I don't know the exact protocols but this is more geared towards grads:

Good luck and congrats on such an interesting sounding paper so early on in your studies!
