Are we ready yet to let a historian claim that English is a Celtic language with Germanic words?

Well, linguistics is not my specialization within anthropology, but this makes intuitive sense to me. You'd think that having Germanic and Celtic languages on the same small island for centuries would eventually have an effect, no?

As my original source for this article pointed out, this would mean that the nearly-all-endangered Celtic language family would gain a very large, very decidedly not endangered new member.
