Campaign Larps and Characters
Hello, first livejournal post!
I got this thing to read about larps and talk about larps and generally do larpy things, so keeping with that theme, here are the characters I apped for the campaign larp being constructed by darkoni42,bleemoo, staystrong62805, and beholdsa, jingsaw, gower, and landicine. Needless to say, I am all kinds of excited about the writing team for this thing. Right! Where was I? Character list.
Supernatural - Dean Winchester.
Avatar - Tenzin, Aang.
Avengers/Marvel - Bruce Banner, Tony Stark
Firefly - Simon Tam
Castle - Richard Castle
It's a bit too late at night to explain why I chose each character, but I'm noticing a trend in that a lot of the characters I picked have extremely close connections to one other character. Dean to Sam, Simon to River, Castle to Beckett. Bruce and Tony don't really count, but shhhhhh, science bros. I think it's because one of my favorite things in a larp is a partnership. When you get the right characters and the right partner, things are just gorgeous. But there's definitely the risk of the person cast as your other half being uninterested in that plot, or just someone you don't click with. Something I'm definitely worried about for a campaign larp.
What sort of interpersonal dynamics do you guys like to see when playing a larp?
