Random Musings, I dunno what I'm talking about :V

So there's some days when I think about all the collective hate groups out there, like the Westboro Baptist Church.  , PETA , The Institute for Historical Review (Holocaust Denial) to an extent.  There are a lot of days when we want them to hurt, to get their comeuppance.

But when it comes down to it, what would be most effective- to us and to them- is if they somehow see and admit that they're wrong. There's a slim chance this'll happen, but if it does...

I think something significant will happen.

I like to think of myself as a Christian, albeit non-denominational. :| Recently I've been looking at the writings of Flannery O'Connor, and the idea of Pride springs to mind fast. Her caricature of America has its pride-filled people that sort of...foreshadow all the hate that occurs in the world today, sort of. And her characters tend to get, er, mauled/killed/beaten to get rid of their pride. A Grandmother is shot by a serial killer to realize the importance and interconnectivity of humans. A boy drowns himself in search of the River of Heaven, shedding his previous life.

But from what I've learned, that doesn't have to be the case. We no longer live in the days of the old Testament, where animal sacrifces are the only thing separating people from the wrath of society, or of God. There is a possibility that the pain is only the natural sort that comes with knowing that you're wrong on something. It passes fast, and soon you'll know that you're back on track.

You'll  have swallowed your pride.

That's the best feeling of all, to know that things are fine again.
