Dear XXX,
I wrote to you, as well as every other Member for Parliament and Senator from South Australia, on October the second, asking you to please explain your stand on the National Security Amendment Bill (No.1) 2014 that has recently been passed. I include the text of my email below. As yet, I have had no reply from you or your office. I believe that this bill has been passed in haste, and there is evidence that not all members who voted took the time to actually read the bill in full. I am very concerned about the powers this bill gives to ASIO and associated organisations, and am particularly concerned that the wording of the bill effectively makes it a criminal act to report on corruption or error in actions taken under the powers of this bill.
