Yay for drabbles.

Tim, breakfast at the Manor.

Tim was carefully spooning up the last of his soft-boiled egg when Jason stumbled into the breakfast nook. Tim swallowed his last mouthful and reached for his whole wheat toast. "Good morning."

Jason muttered something incoherent and groped toward the coffee pot. His hair stuck out from his head at gravity-defying angles, and he looked rather like a disgruntled owl. Eventually, he fumbled himself a cup of coffee and inhaled it in one long swallow. " 'S a disgusting time t' be up," he slurred and poured himself another cup.

Tim didn't reply; Jason wouldn't hear him properly for another five minutes, anyway. Instead, he addressed himself to a small plate of fresh fruit.

Dick bounced in, improbably cheerful considering the time they had gotten back from patrol last night. He stole a strawberry from Tim's plate, but wisely left Jason his coffee. Some battles weren't worth fighting first thing in the morning.

*giggles madly* XD Sleep-rumpled Jason is just too adorable. I kinda wish this were the start to a longer fic! :p

Yeah, he really is. I imagine him as a reluctant waker in the mornings.

In truth, I wasn't sure where to end this one. It does feel like the start of a longer scene. Maybe I'll work on that ...

Yeah, better to just leave Jason alone! And poor Timmy, one disgruntled brother and one too-cheerful one.

Cute!

Thanks!

Jason is grumpy and Dick is disgustingly cheerful, it's true, but I'm not sure Tim is any better. Did you see how precisely he's eating that nutritious breakfast?

Yeah, Tim is definitely the too careful, neurotic one. Oh well.

They all deal with mundanities in their own way. Tim's is neither better nor worse than any of the others, except when it's getting him so tangled up in his head that he can't move.
