written tonight. to be published later, but relevant now.
a woman consumes but a man shies away.
"if you are me and i am us, why no apple a day?"
she made a fair point plus she'd already eaten;
he couldn't say no with his argument cheapened.
so they suffered forever, together.
a man held the key, but wouldn't yet turn.
"it's for the good of humanity, so where lies the harm?"
he made up his mind, he'd tinker and fiddle;
when solved they inclined to drop the explosive riddle.
and everyone feared this endeavor. forever.
a boy eats alone on a bench in park quiet.
the man passing by looks and pauses to comment.
"kid, were you not taught what so much candy may cause?
brazenfaced callousness like yours deserves a few laws."
said boy, "grandfather lived healthy to age ninety-three."
asked man, "and did he, i pry, gorge on as many sweets?"
"no, but he minded his own business."
