Just when I was starting to think that I "don't get out much" and/or that I'm "taking a break from life for a month or two" to relax and deal with anxiety disorder, I'm ending up with a super packed social calendar weekend.
Here's how it's playing out. On Friday, I went up to my best friend's place, up in Catonsville, to hang out, play videogames on Wii, eat pizza and watch some of a Bond movie. On Saturday, I had the usual weekly trip to the parents' house, in Clarksville. My sister and brother-in-law were over there this time, so we got some Cranium Turbo Edition (or whatever it is) board game playing in, along with Foosball and some more playing of my Wii. For this evening (Sunday) I headed down to Reston to go to a spiritual get-together at the place of a friend of my Aunt's. There were seven people there today, and we did Tarot card readings and such... pretty cool; I'll have to bring some of my Angel Oracle Cards down next time. Tomorrow night, I have my monthly Novels in Progress group meeting in DC. Then, on Tuesday afternoon, I have a job interview in Gaithersburg.
Every day, it's something, it seems. I think it's funny that I often tend to see myself as not having that many friends and/or places that I typically go to, but when I add up all the different social activities, and potential groups and people I can hang out with and such, there are probably quite a few. No man is an island, they say... and an extended weekend like this reminds me that that still applies even if you live alone and don't seem to have much officially going on...
