You knew it would happen eventually, Anthony. The LJ gods are punishing you for being a rebel and writing 2,000-word posts. :DD

I went and wikied Jack Cohen, just in case he turned out to be, you know, a nickname for Shakespeare or something. You're talking about this Jack Cohen, right? I doubt you'd be interested in the one who founded a supermarket chain...

Damn. I must have forgotten to make the necessary sacrifices this moon.

Thaddeus, I think I'll need you to break into the blood bank for me again...

Right. Also, the Jack Cohen who took a live tiger not in a cage to a lecture with 200 children, and who did did an amazingly cool lecture at my school on Thursday, and invited stripyglove out to dinner, and who helped me try to pursuade one of my science teachers that fantasy and sc-fi is good, and who gave me a copy of his book on designing aliens that he happened to have in his car and signed it (twice) and is a personal friend of Iain M. Banks as well as having written books with Terry Pratchett.

And did I mention that he gave me his card in case I wanted a reference or some help or advice or whatever?

Sitting in front of our keyboards with morose expressions on our faces, twiddling our thumbs and trying to recall what we used to do with our time before the invention of the internet?

Hmm. I think back before I discovered the internet, I used to read 100+ books a year (no, seriously). Then again, you still manage that amount, probably. :p

Hm. And pla a lot of Lego, if I recall correctly...

But yeah; I probably did read more in those days. Right now I'm at around the thirty-two books mark, and stagnating...

Ooh, I don't know if I ever told you about this, but my cousins & I used to have this game called "Lego Mall", in which Lego became -- a capitalist economy, more or less. There were shops and trading and currency and we were really quite dorky about it; I remember that I used to like to be a collector of people-heads.

Stagnating? :p

I think you did, aye - but that is really rather cool. :D I remember going to my friend's house, where there was insane amounts of Lego, and playing great games with their giant bases, which never seemed to go anywhere because both of them had very powerful force-fields of varying kinds which were fairly impregnable, although neither of them came up with the rather nifty reflection trick, which was very good fun... :D

*geeks out*

You scare me sometimes, a little bit. You know?

(Also, you should probably be pointed at this.

And definately this... :D)

Re. the links -- OH MY GOD SOME PEOPLE HAVE NO LIFE. Granted, I am one of them, but that is not the point. I love how the content warrants a rating guide, and it's an illustration of the Bible... :DD

PEOPLE-LEGO-HEADS! YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN! :p

*nods* Some of my non-reading periods are prompted by books like Vanity Fair, actually -- I just get bogged down, and I've never been good at stopping a book mid-read. It's like giving up, almost.

I know. :D The Old Testament really was a suprisingly bloodthirsty and sex-crazed affair, and my RS teacher once tried to exhort us to read Matthew's gospel by telling us that “It’s actually not boring: stuff happens - there’s blood, and people die… it’s pretty interesting.” :DD

Cthulego really makes me giggle, though - especially with the TARDIS hidden away in the corner... :D

*nods* I hate giving up on a book. I'm never entirely sure why; partly it's an entirely irrational feeling that if I give up I'll miss the bit where it really gets good, and partly a bizarre point of principle, in that I much prefer to rubbish books when I've actually read all of them. It's not that I'm not enjoying Vanity Fair, though, but's it's just a complete timesink ( ... )

There is other stuff I wanted to respond to, but this takes priority: YOU WATCH DOCTOR WHO?!?!

Not really; I'm just British. :D My ancestors hid behind the sofa the first time round. :DDD

(As squeeful as Dr WHO is, it's still TV, which is against my religion except on special occaisions and at specail times of the year. Which means that I saw the Christmas special and the re-runs they did then and I see it if I'm babysitting at the right time, but that's it...

But even so: I am British, and we Brits can dance a little dance of joy at a blue police-box anywhere.)

Ah, true. When I was reading about Doctor Who on Wikipedia like a true dork I remember reading that Doctor Who stuff has become part of British culture, or something.

YOU SHOULD TRY TO CONVERT ME TO YOUR RELIGION. Then I would have much more time for books, which should really take precedence over everything, and also I would get my homework done on time for once. o.O

Well, of course; after all, the Doctor, just like God, is obviously an Englishman...:P:P:P

No, you wouldn't, honestly. At least, I never do...

And anyway, there are lots of awesome things on TV that I probably should watch...
