A friend of mine phoned me earlier because he'd just split up with his long-term girlfriend, and he needed to talk to someone. I hope he's okay.
Hugs to those who need them; you know who you are. (Have a hug even if you don't, because you may need one and not know it; and even if you don't need one at all, have a hug, because they are wonderful things, and the world should be full of them.)
I'm sure there's an in-depth and analytical post that could be written about our relationship, and about the conversation, and things, and I could write it; but right now, I'm just hoping that he will be okay. Going into it would be unfair.
(In other news, my headmaster was very amusing in assembly today on a variety of topics, and I may have no school tomorrow, and may go to see Bowling for Soup in Cambridge or an Alan Bennet play in Watford or neither, depending on the weather, which may also prevent school. And I played two very bad games of squash today and two very good ones, beating James (our team's captain) with a handicap of -6 to his -8 playing to 15 American, and then battled him to eight all English before we were rudely interrupted by our teacher; and bought some rather wonderful things from shops in town, and saw my grandmother.)
He'll be okay, eventually, but right now it hurts. Whether there is school or not tomorrow I'll be seeing him, because being by yourself when you're down is not good, and friends are.
I hope he's okay.
