Angry young man. Cliché.

I am in a foul mood.

This annoys me: it is not the fault of any particular person, and being pissed off is not good. It is not helped by the fact that about five seconds after I turned on some music, my mother decided to turn on the radio and listen to something that she doesn't particularly like, and therefore require me to turn it off; nor the ( Read more... )

pissed off, pomp and ceremony, squab, meltam

I do so wish that I was you, sometimes; life would be so much simpler if I didn't have to deal with Mum and Dad bickering over religion - or culture - and without my own conflict with whatever values are presented. I was thinking about this earlier, actually, and find that I'm pretty much agreeing with Richard Dawkings: children should be brought up irreligiously and allowed to choose religion on their own steam if they want it...

I did have chocolate, as it happened; it was a rather interesting chocolate sauce that was served in little paper cake-cups, and I dipped meringue in it. :D

It's a terrible thing when you're trying your best to do some good and all of this comes around. I can't say I've experienced exactly the same thing -- politics is one of the reasons why I tend to stay out of leadership activities entirely -- but I can say that I'm sorry you can see straight through it & have to deal with it anyway.

I don't know. I've heard it said that one needs to learn how to "deal with things" like this, but I don't see why they have to exist in the first place. Here's to hoping the night isn't too painful for you, and that you get a chance to say at least a little bit of what's on your mind.

I have to admitt that, in some circumstances, I quite enjoy the politics. They can be quite fun when they're not a total pain in the arse - which, unfortunately, is not a very common combination...

And thank you ( ... )
