Today was a bad day for America. Terri Shiavo passed away. We have allowed our courts to go too far this time. Although they use the rhetoric that this was the will of her husband and that the federal courts cannot circumvent the state courts, this inhumane act cannot be made humane. Murder is murder. I'm glad to see a bit of argument. I hope everyone has a chance to read Neil's entry also so you can see the viewpoint of a calm conservative and an angry liberal. Lol ;)

I am not trying to argue, and I wish people wouldn't become so defensive. I have one question to ask to you and everyone else? Have you ever read the entire Declaration? Well I have and here is what it says, second paragraph:
"That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."
Now clearly I am not trying to make up something that they said, it's right there. I don't want anyone to think I'm pushing for the abolishing side, that would be much too ridiculous. However, alter the government is what we need to do. This shouldn't be about partisan politics. It should be all the people trying to make the government to actually be from them again.

You say that you want the people to hold the government in check, but the only way they can do that is either through some revolt, which I'm sure no one would be in support of, or through electing officials more wisely.

And the government is still from the people, it's just out own fault for being ignorant and stupid. We elect dumb people to fill offices and then use excuses like, "well, this is better than the alternative" when no one actually knows what the alternative would've been like. That's just closemindedness masked with horrible shit that at least I can see through.

You're right, it's not about partisan politics, yet you preach from a position w/o any sign of compromise.
