I would like to begin with an ode of thanks to my wonderful friend Mekenzee. A new background, compliments of her, has been installed. It is rather odd, but nonetheless I feel that it shows my true character and the state of the relationship that Mekenzee and I mutually have.
The past week was very off the wall. Wednesday I went to see a Korean movie with Kaylin. Friday Mekenzee came over in the afternoon and we went to see a Korean dance production with Kaylin, Coral, and Melanie. We then had an impromtu karaoke night (since we had missed our weekly one on Thursday.) Sara Cole joined in which made for a new face. Mekenzee then proceeded to sleep in my room. It was very eventful. We laughed quite a bit until around 3am. I had to wake up at 8 to go to the Hand-In-Hand volunteer activity. I was to work with a handicapped child for the day and take him through the Posvari Safari. However, my child did not come. I walked around with Shemushi and Debbie and their children. It was nice to help these kids who don't get to have as much fun as they deserve. After the Safari, I went to the LINK (Liberation in North Korea)program. It was wonderful. A movie called Seoul Train was played. It outlined the offenses to international law that China has made in regard to the North Korean refugee situation. It was a very emmotional documentary. It truly made me feel grateful that I live in America.
To all those people who do not feel grateful for living in this blessed and wonderful country, take a vacation to North Korea. =)
A man then spoke. He was from North Korea, and had fought against the U.S. during the Korean War. He eventually fled the destitute nation. He has been a professor for quite some time and currently works at Yale. He gave his testimony about how he was Saved and brought safely out of North Korea. It was extremely moving, and I was very excited that many people at the event who probably did not realize there would be anything Jesus-related got to hear a very exciting testimony.
So the week went well. Hopefully this weekend will also go quickly and well. :)
