It's Friday. Time for something silly. Many of you will already be devotees of cbbc's Horrible Histories which is quite possibly the finest history series ever broadcast on television. Most of my knowledge of the Georgian period outwith the Royal Navy comes from Horrible Histories Gorgeous Georgians sketches*. This is one of my favourites, and

I'd only just gotten the llama song out of my head! ;)

I told a friend of of mine who studied history like me about this, and the day after she knew all the clips about the English kings and queens by heart. And keeps singing songs about English kings at me. D: This is a highly contagious plague!

Well most of my knowledge of the Royal Navy circa the Napoleonic Wars comes form this programme that used to be on ITV1 on a Sunday night, what's your point? :P

Well obviously my point is that the best place to admire breeches learn history is in front of the telly. You're a historian you should know that!

It's good isn't it?! The costumes for this series are always spot on. I suspect they may have had the run of the entire BBC wardrobe department!

I love these songs, though I never heard of this series before, I am Dutch, but now I watched everything. Thank you for this!
