Title: Justinian (1/2)
Author: Anteros
Characters: Clayton, Kennedy, Simpson

He had come aboard early in the spring with a dozen other young gentlemen and volunteers. )

Hopefully I'll have a chance to post part two before the end of the week.

You did such a great job capturing the claustrophobic, paralysing atmosphere. Simpson's lurking, menacing presence is almost palpable.

I know :/
Thank you, I'm glad you thought this captured the atmosphere of Justinian. I think this is probably as close as I could come to actually writing Simpson himself.

I'm just glad you're back here to read it :) I had hoped to post part two tonight but my brains are asleep too!
That moment-- the moment when he went from Archie-before to Archie-after.
Yes, that's the point where everything changes. In some ways it's the end.
Simpson does not think of himself as a rapist, and he does not think of himself as 'liking guys.' In fact he would almost certainly rape women too, given a chance.
Definitely. Which just goes to prove yet again that rape is a crime of power and violence.
Clayton is a frustrating and slippery fellow. Eccleston makes more sense to me.
Yes, I agree. Eccleston is a much less ambiguous character that Clayton. Despite everything though, my overwhelming feeling about Clayton is pity.
I hope reading this wasn't too much like jumping into a freezing cold pool and bashing your head on a rock! Sorry I didn't have something a bit more cheerful to welcome you back.
