Remember the Collingwood diary I posted about last week, which Charles Miller are auctioning? Unsurprisingly it caught the attention of the Navy Records Society too and on Saturday they tweeted:
It seems that the NRS approached the seller to request permission to transcribe the journal before it's sold. Their answer? No.
Tragic. Just tragic. I can only hope the new owner will be a bit more generous with this unique journal.
