I'm just back after spending a couple of days working in Cambridge, and of course I couldn't visit without following in
nodbear's footsteps and making a pilgrimage to The Bridge. It was pouring rain yesterday morning and I had resigned myself to getting very wet in pursuance of fangirly devotion, however by late afternoon the skies had cleared and it had turned into a beautiful if rather cold spring day. Unfortunately my damn phone died a death as I was making my way across the meadows so I only managed to take two pictures :( It's a lovely spot though, much prettier than it looks in the film. (Though admittedly The Bridge is much prettier with Baby Bamber than without ;) When I was there yesterday there were swans and rowers, brightly painted narrowboats, kids flying kites, mothers and toddlers feeding the ducks, the ubiquitous students on bicycles and one dewey eyed fangirl who really should be old enough to know better ;)
And here's the boy himself...
If you have no idea what on earth I'm rabbiting on about here. This is the bridge where Jamie Bamber made his very first appearance on film in the charmingly amateur 1994 student production Shifting Sands.
