Haven't we met before?

Last night partner and I watched Thor. We tend to get round to watching films about a year or so after the rest of the known world. Anyway, I was completely distracted for the first half of the film trying to figure out who Mr Hemsworth reminded me of. A quick imdb check confirmed that neither of us had ever seen him in anything ever, but he still seemed, or rather sounded, awfully familiar. Eventually partner cracked it - "He sounds just like Jack!" And it's true, he does! Thor seems to have borrowed Captain Aubrey's Aussie English accent! We both spent the rest of the film giggling and expecting Thor to start yelling nautical commands or for Stephen to appear like a bolt from the blue. Maybe it's just us...

In other news, I am currently reading esteven's wonderful Christmas present, a beautifully bound copy of Basil Hall's Travels in India, Ceylon and Borneo. This morning on the bus to work I just about laughed myself silly reading Hall's description of trying to evade the nocturnal depredations of the mosquito. Anyone who has ever spent the night with one of the little buggers will sympathise. You can read "The Nocturnal Hunt of the Mosquito" here.

And talking of work, I'd better go and do some :}
