[ A quiet, peaceful night. Calm and clear skies. A night time with no Dark Hour. How boring is the only thought that goes through his mind.
He's not really used to this - a quiet, peaceful night - and it makes him quite uneasy to be honest. He wasn't really sure why either. Nights like this were supposed to be calming and now with Nyx defeated, he could not see why he wasn't relaxed.
Maybe it's because you just lost a friend, you idiot.
That was true. Ever since Minato's death, he had been feeling a little down. But he wouldn't go back to change the past. Maybe he was restless because the Dark Hour gave him something to train for. Now that it was gone, he didn't really have anything to become stronger for. Nothing really to fight for.

[ Without Yusa here on recon, Yuri had taken it upon herself to patrol the grounds, eyes opened for any familiar-looking figures she could spot. After all, if she was here - the chances that her allies were here too was very high. Even if it had only been a few days since they had parted, she found herself missing them - most of them - already.
Gun in hand, she walked into the courtyard and stopped as the sight of the night sky caught her eyes. It was breathtakingly beautiful, a sight she had not seen... Not since the day she had died.
Yuri lowered her gaze from the sky, her eyes narrowing when she spotted somebody else in the courtyard. Human, not-human or NPC?
Well, she decided, no harm approaching him and finding out. If she was really alone here, like she suspected, she needed allies. And if he turned out hostile, she had her gun and her knives. Walking up, Yuri gave a nod to acknowledge his presence. ]
[ Akihiko had noticed that someone was close-by to him but he hadn't really paid much attention to the person until she said something. He turns around casually, his eyes immediately focusing on the gun in the girl's hand. A mugger? A murderer?
He looks up and examines her face. She seemed too...cute, really, to be either one of those but Aki knows better to judge someone just on appearance. Still, no harm in replying back. After all, he is more than capable of defending himself. ]
Hey.
[ A small pause before he speaks again, eyes drifting back to the gun. ]
[ She noted his reaction quietly. Casual and calm, despite the obvious threat she held in her hands. Either somebody with experience, or an NPC. Yuri spoke, calmly. ]
Ah, it is. Useful, too.
[ Especially for people who couldn't defend themselves otherwise, she thought. With her right hand, Yuri replaced the gun back into its holster, on her back, under her uniform. ]
You don't seem too shocked. Don't tell me you've used one before?
We don't harm civilians or innocents; that has always been our way on the battlefield.
[ And as far as Yuri was concerned, this person was still classified under both of these categories. However, she found herself curious at the answer she was given. If something was not a real gun, then, a model? But only collectors and cosplayers would...
No, she was assuming too much about the other worlds. ]
A model gun? You don't seem the type. [ To play with model guns, of course. ]
[ That's how Akihiko liked to keep things, anyway. Never involve someone whom it did not concern. He blinks at her next statement before letting out a small laugh. ]
You shouldn't judge on appearance. After all, you don't look like the type to carry a gun around.
[ As long as he didn't call her feminine or girly, Yuri was fine with not looking like somebody who carried a gun. Even if she hated to be underestimated, at least it came with the element of surprise for the other person.
It didn't slip from her notice that he had yet to directly answer her question. Well, if that was the way it was going to be. ]
So, what's your name, person who plays with model guns?
[ Akihiko wouldn't call her feminine or girly anyways. If anything, he'd call her a cute girl. But that would be considered flirting and Aki knows that he's not good at flirting whatsoever. He almost cringes at the thought as he is reminded of "Operation Babe Hunt"...
He raises an eyebrow at the title she gives him but shrugs it off. Might as well play along with. ]
Sanada Akihiko. And you, lady who carries a gun around?
[ More than one gun, actually. But he didn't need to know that.
Sanada Akihiko, huh? NPC or not, he was an interesting fellow.
For Yuri, she had gone too long without using her last name. And to start using it now would feel strange. She could imagine the other members of the SSS asking "Who's Nakamura?" Really, those idiots.
But, in the end, they were her idiots. ]
I'm Yuri. [ She wasn't even going to mention the nickname Hinata-kun had given her- ] Sanada-san, I'll be straightforward with you. Are you able to fight?
[ No last name? Well that was fine - the customs of her world may be different than his.
He blinks at her next question, taken aback by it. Where did that come from? Was she in need of a body guard? It would explain why she was carrying a gun around. ]
I'm a boxer so you could say that. [ He really saw no harm in telling her but he is definitely is giving her a "why do you need to know this?" look. ]
Sanada-san, I don't know what sort of world you came from but, right now, that doesn't matter. At this very moment, both of us are standing in this foreign world called Ceriu. [ Softly, ] This world is a pitiful world that has already lost so much.
[ Strength and determination returned to her voice. ] Back in my own world, my allies and I were fighting. [ Even when it turned out that they were fighting the wrong fight all along, just staying there, just being together... Yuri believed that everyone was truly happy. ] Even here, I'll fight as well. Whether it's to protect the ones who can't defend themselves or to move forward in order to discover the secrets of this world, I'll fight.
But I know it's stupid to fight alone. [ She knew that all too well; Yuri had always known it. ] That's why, here, in this world, I need allies. Sanada-san, if you are willing to fight, won't you join me?
[ Her speech done, she held out her hand. Yuri glanced up at the other person with

[ That look in her eyes. He's seen it somewhere before. It was the same look that Minato and the other members of S.E.E.S gave right before fighting Nyx. A look of determination, an unfaltering will to protect the people who matter the most to you.
It was the same look Shinji gave when S.E.E.S was first formed. Adamant, strong, determined to join even though he may not have been ready. He gave that same look too when he was dying.
It was the same look Miki gave him when they were in the orphanage. A look that made him determined to protect her, even when he was powerless. Yes...that's whom she reminded him of. His little sister...
He stares at her hand before gazing back into her eyes. Closing his eyes, he lets out a chuckle. ]
[ But his eyes open shortly after his question, a new fire burning in them. He knows that feeling all too well. After all, he too promised to fight until the end.
Without any hesitation, he reaches for her hand and holds it firmly, his voice filled with promise. ]
I once said that I'd fight until the end. Even though this isn't my world, I'm going to keep to my word.
Thank you! XD Just don't ever say it to her face~ 1/2willfightgodJune 29 2010, 04:58:17 UTC
[ Yuri tilted her to head to the side, waiting for a reply. She hated the waiting, the silent seconds counting off in her head, but she left her hand there, outstretched, and would leave it there until she was accepted or denied.
A chuckle?
At his question, a small smile slipped onto her lips. Strangers? All the members of SSS had been strangers once. Kanade, too, had been an enemy once. No, not just Kanade... Shiina as well. Strangers could become allies and friends, become people one could count on.
When he finally took her hand, Yuri's smile brightened. Inside, she was both glad and proud that she had not misjudged him on first sight. ]
Thank you, Sanada-san. I welcome you as a official honourary member of the Afterli-
[ Yuri trailed off, frowning. The name "Afterlife Battlefront" wouldn't really fit here, would it? Especially not if she was going to recruit people who had never died. She gave a small sigh. ]
He's not really used to this - a quiet, peaceful night - and it makes him quite uneasy to be honest. He wasn't really sure why either. Nights like this were supposed to be calming and now with Nyx defeated, he could not see why he wasn't relaxed.

Gee, what a depressing thought. ]
