Today was Iceland replotting day. Why oh why did I get myself tangled up in writing a travelogue for a country I've never been in? And what is this, the third redraft of the synopsis? The synopsis itself is longer than most of what passes for fanfic on LJ. (Says the woman craving epic BG in a terrible way right now.) It's definitely in novella ( Read more... )

All the Sherlock fic I've read, I've gotten via ladyofthelog, who's been doing some very nice recs post. She also has Twitter account she recs things from.

It's a start, anyway. :)

I would write you some novel length B/G fic, but I've come to the conclusion that I just can't get their voices right and I'd rather not write OOC bad!fic if I can help it.

As for fannish stuff, I don't know if you'd be interested, but A Ficathon Walks into a Bar is starting again. It's got a fairly quick turnaround time and you only need 500 words. It's a fun excuse for doing a crossover you might not have done otherwise. For instance, it was responsible for the SGA/Muppetshow crossover I did last spring. If nothing else, I'm hoping it will provide a nice distraction from homework when I need it.

No, you don't need smut or porn to make a story complete. Most of my favorite stories have no smut or porn to them at all. If the story needs it, then put it in. If the story isn't calling for it, don't.
