Winter Break - sorry for the randomness.

I am so glad it is winter break, although it's almost over. TT_TT  Too soon!!!

Last semester was so stressful, and I'm not really looking forward to this next semester because it will be just as busy with schoolwork. I don't know how people do it. 6 classes, 18 or more credits, is waaay too much. It stresses me out just thinking about it. *shudders* I've actually been working hard to relax this winter break, although it's seemed really short. I need to read more to unwind.

I started Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, but it's not really keeping my attention. Then, I went to a retail bookstore called Half-Price Books out by La Grange, IL, and purchased several novels--a couple of which are for my classes next semester (Uncle Tom's Cabin and Moby-Dick). I'm looking over the sparknotes version of Moby-Dick right now. I've meant to read ahead but  I couldn't bring myself to do so yet with only four-three days left to relax before next semester starts. Yesterday I read and finished the novel Mine to Take by Dara Joy (which I've read before and been meaning to purchase for several years). Then today I finished reading Ella Enchanted for the umpteenth time.

I also purchased Stephen King's On Writing: a Memoir of the Craft, which I'm 1/3rd done through. It's very interesting so far. Of course, Stephen King is an excellent writer, even if his novels scare the shit out of me. Reading his memoir has also got me to write a bit about my life, which is really good. I wish I had thought to write some of that for my Creative Non-Fiction class. Overall, I'm not too fond of writing non-fiction because it's too personal.

In other news, I've seen a few movies this break, which makes me very happy. Last night I saw AVATAR for the second time - that time in 3D. I also saw the new Disney film this break--THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG-- which I liked. What was the other.... oh yes, the SHERLOCK HOLMES film. =3

Other than that, I watched a new Korean drama ---> You're Beautiful. It was good. Kinda reminded me of Hana Yori Dango + Hana Kimi. =D I recommend it. I downloaded all the videos and hope to put them on DVDs for future use. I definitely hope there will be a season two because the ending left a lot of room open.

Oh wow. On the news right now, there's a message that in Matteson, IL (where my friend Allison lives and my Uncle, Aunt & cousins live) some guy tried to rob a Sprint store and when it did not work out, he took hostages! eep! The guy seems to have escaped, but the hostages are unharmed, thank God. Freaky Freaky.

Now then, where was I?.... New Years! I don't know how I could have forgotten that. A bunch of my friends and I got a hotel room in downtown Chicago and spent New Years Eve/Day at the famous club of Excalibur. It was a lot of fun. Good food and open bar until 11pm. Good music too. Some creepers, but that was to be expected.

Um, there's not much else I have to report. Next semester my classes will be Creative Writing 2, Poets & Artists Collaboration, The Development of the Novel, Spanish seminar of 18th C lit to present, Japanese 302, and Philosophy 101.
That's about it for now. My belly is happy because mom and I made meatloaf and at it for dinner. Then I drank some delicious raspberry tea. Now I'll probably go back upstairs and read a bit more. I've been in bed reading most of the day because of cramps (stupid cramps) but I never tire of leisure reading. TTFN
