Lonely Planet about Kiev
почему-то так получилось, что единственное что я нашла по Киеву на торрентах - англоязычный лонли планет. нисколько не пожалела что скачала именно его. перл на перле. переводить не буду, так как слово "бабушкас" просто выше всех моих способностей. да, и слово, "сало", выделенное курсивом просто буру умиления вызвало - мимими. а уж Родина Мат.... ну, в общем-то конечно они правы - и насчет Родины, и насчет мата... но , да.... не на нашего читателя их путеводитель яно ориентирован. Ну никто не будет в нашем путеводиле писать, что Родину мать называют "оловянные сиськи" и первая мысль, которая возникает при ее видении - ЧТО ЗА ЧОРТ?
в общем, следующее что я читаю - Лонли планет по России. ну да, так ... чисто поржать...
а потом удивляемся почему люди думают что у нас в новогоднюю ночь по красной площади медведи бегают или спорят чем отличается бабУшка от матрешки.

This 62m-tall statue of a female warrior is liable to loom on the horizon and make you wonder “What the hell is that?” What the hell, indeed . It is the icing on top of the Museum of Great Patriotic War. The statue has been nicknamed “the Iron Lady” or “Tin Tits”.”
“Overall, the standart of museums in Kyiv is lower than in comparable with European cities, but there are a few gems.”
“Babushkas at the train station offer rooms as a little than 10 dollars, and entire one-bedroom at Soviet-style apartments for 25 dollars and up.”
